Finally I got time for shooting my HHKB.
Bought at the end of 2019, this HHKB was my first keeb, which sparked my interest in keyboards.
Before joining the community of custom keyboards, brands that I can tell were “those famouse”, such as Cherry, Filco, Leopold, Ducky, and Varmilo etc. As a software engineer, I felt like I need an “extraordinary” keyboard to look like a geek. So I searched something like “What is the best keyboard for programmers”, and HHKB appeared in front of my eyes.
I then searched it on Taobao, HOLY MOLY, around ¥2,000! almost twice as expensive as those mechanical keyboards I mentioned above. Wait…what is DIP Capacitive Switch? As I dug deeper, I was attracted to its features, like its layout (e.g. relocation of the ‘Control’ key), its durability and so on. OK, HHKB, I am in. How about the model? Bluetooth 3.0, no… Professional 2, Professional 2 Type-S, sounded better, OK, here we go.
A few days later…
When I unboxed my new keyboard and typed with my own hands, it was like entering a whole new world. “Is this the end game of keyboards?” I was thinking. (clearly no)
I quickly got used to the layout of HHKB, and until now, this layout is my favourite.
Oh, you may ask, how did you be obsessed with mech keebs? That’s another story :p
Thanks for watching!
